Non-profit organization of New Zealand computer society (www.nzcs.org.nz) unveiled its plot to develop a cloud computing code of practice, for increasing awareness in public, regarding the issues of cloud computing.
Just one day prior to this announcement, New Zealand’s web hosting company-FlexiHost-has introduced a registration mobile app along with NZ field lookup.
A press release says that its objectives are to mark out the desires of addressing the accountability and standards for cloud computing. Last year, a same curriculum was implemented by Cloud Industry Forum in UK.
NZ computer society has revealed that the initially the boards of the project will be aided unconnectedly, really a voluntary code of practice.
Paul Matthews, chief executive NZCS, stated, “Cloud computing offers exciting new opportunities and avenues for New Zealand, but with that comes responsibilities for service providers. We’re excited that the industry is being proactive in addressing this through the proposed Cloud Code of Practice, ensuring those using cloud services can continue to have confidence in solutions available in New Zealand.”
Major participants of the association are public from Microsoft, Xero, Cloud Sherpas, Euinox, InternetNZ, Gen-I, Centranum, Localist, Fronde, Simmonds Stewart, Webb Henderson and different observers from Government CIO and privacy Commissioner.
Matthews added, “While the next steps will be facilitated by NZCS as the ICT professional body, this is an industry-wide initiative. For it to be successful, we need wide participation and engagement as the Code is developed and now look to our industry and others to support this project.”
Press release further states that next stages will be consisting of ‘Terms of Reference’ and broader collection of fascinated stakeholders. As said by NZCS, an methodical reference group will be offered to participate.
