Uptime and performance of US e-commerce websites during December 2011 (study)
Out of the 59 US-based e-commerce sites we monitored during the holiday season last year 28 scored a perfect 100% uptime for December. Whether this helped spur on the booming sales in the US, we don’t know, but retail e-commerce spending in the US reached $37.2 billion for the November to December 2011 period. That was an increase of 15% from the same period in 2010.
Apple’s App Store generates 6x the revenue of Android Market in the US
There are presumably more Android phones and devices out there now than there are iPhones (and iPod Touches). However, it seems Android users keep holding their wallets much closer to their chests than iPhone users and iOS users in general. Case in point, according to a new report from Distimo , the App Store for iPhone generates almost 4x as much revenue as Google’s Android Market in the US.
