Facebook Signs Deals With Global Power
Global Power Supply, a provider of important power equipment and complete incorporated power supplies for backup in case of emergency and primary power applications, got selected by Facebook to satisfy the power demand required by their new data center located in Prineville Oregon. Facebook started developing the data center with the aim of producing an environment friendly, energy saving computing infrastructure at very low prices. “Inspired by the model of open source software, we want to share the innovations in our data center for the entire industry to improve upon.”-Tom Furlong, Director of Operations at Facebook.
Microsoft Asks Sitecore to Join Windows Advisory Board
Participating at the ™ Forum Management World 2011, Vice President Global Strategic Alliances of the company Sitecore, Jean-Paul Gomes made an announcement that he has been asked to become a member of the Microsoft’s Azure Platform Customer Advisory Board (CAB). By becoming a board member, Gomes will accept the responsibility of advising the management team of Microsoft’s Windows Azure product over the different trends emerging in the industries and the web applications taking precedence in the business world over building and hosting the cloud. “Sitecore eagerly accepted the invitation to this small, select group of senior technology leaders who play a critical role in guiding the future direction of the Windows Azure Platform,” said Gomes.
