
In a statement released by Nine Lives Media on Tuesday, it was announced that the company has launched its Talkin’ Cloud 50 report, which lists the top organizations responsible for developing and providing cloud services to their clients. In the top 50’s list, the top 10 spots were claimed by OpSource, Apptix, mindSHIFT Technologies, iland Internet Solutions, Alliance Technology Group, Anittel Group Limited, HEIT, NetBoundary, MySecureCloud, and Excel Micro.
The report was concluded after collecting data from the Talkin’ Cloud online assessment which took house in Development. The report also includes in rank in this area cloud aggregators, cloud brokers and cloud service providers. Also identified are the top VARs and MSPs in the cloud, based on cloud centric revenues, applications provided, clients supported and extra features. Nine Lives Media hopes that with the “Talkin’ Cloud 50 results and company profiles will convince skeptics that cloud computing is more than hype.”
It has been stated in the assessment that the top 50 companies named by Talkin’ Cloud all made around $321 million in annual cloud revenue for the year 2010, which was 47 percent more than the $218 million made in 2009. The sum of the annual cloud revenues between the Talkin’ Cloud’s top 50 saw a 47 percent increase from 2009 to 2010 raising more than $6 million.
Of the 50, around 68 percent provides infrastructure as a service, while 42 percent provides platform as a service and the 74 percent provides software as a service. Some particular areas like hosted/ SaaS email, virtual servers in the cloud, storage as a service and hosted unified communications also saw a mention in the report. According to the list, the most in demand cloud partners were VMware, Microsoft BPOS/Office 365, Google Apps, Zenith Infotech, Amazon Simple Storage Service, Rackspace, Intermedia and Ingram Micro Services.
